The Blend Shelf, by Percolate
Decaf coffee blend recipes for home roasters
These recipes use decaf components throughout. Choose by roast level, intended brew method and the role each component plays, rather than expecting a particular flavour from the decaf label alone.
Choose a useful first trial
Use a decaf coffee for every component when adapting an all-decaf recipe. Check the seller's lot and processing information, roast a small trial, and record the result. Decaf processing and the specific lot can change how a bean roasts; a shared origin does not make two lots interchangeable.
Decaf is not caffeine-free. These recipes describe bean selection, not laboratory measurements. A half-caff recipe uses equal weights of regular and decaf beans, which does not establish an exact 50% reduction in caffeine. Browse mixed-caf recipes in the main Shelf for that starting point.
